Learn history in Bulacan Museum (Malolos, Bulacan)
To travel a place is to know its history. Located in Malolos, Bulacan, the Bulacan Museum houses several collections that define the culture and ethnology of Bulacan. Also, the museum displays numerous art masterpieces of famous National heroes such as Francisco Baltazar and Marcelo H. Del Pilar. Artworks and paintings of local artists can also be found in the museum.
There you will also see some of the articles and precious relics from the Philippine Revolution. There are several historical events happened in Bulacan that changed and reformed the Philippine history. Students and the curious minds are most welcomed in the museum.
Go nostalgic with Bustos Heritage Houses
You will know the history of a place not only from the relics and archeological collections being displayed in the museum but most especially to the architectural displays of the place. In Bustos, Bulacan are some ancestral houses, some are made from beautiful woodworks, some are made from stones of solid stone masonry. The heritage houses had withstood the catastrophic World War II. Now, these ancestral homes are well taken cared by the government. In fact, you have to call the municipal office if you like to take a walk inside the colonial structures.
Take a walk in Marcelo H. Del Pilar Shrine
Marcel H. Del Pilar is a writer, poet, journalist, and a lawyer who had a significant role in the Philippine Revolution. To honor Del Pilar’s bravery and courage of creating a revolution against the injustice rulership of the Spaniards, a shrine was built in the place of his birth, now famous as Marcelo H. Del Pilar Shrine positioned in Brgy. San Nicolas, Bulacan, Bulacan.
In the middle of the vast vicinity of the shrine stands upright is the monument of Del Pilar made by a local sculptor, ApolinarioBulaong. Inside the mausoleum is a family tree that displays the descendants of the late hero.
Go Extreme Madlum River
Located in San Miguel, Bulacan, Madlum River offers several extreme and death-defying activities such as spelunking in Mt. Manalmon and climbing Mt. Gola. There is also a monkey bridge that crosses above the cold water of the river. On the sides of the river are huge rocks and boulders with misty greens and plants that add serene ambiance to the place.
Trek Mount Manalmon
Outdoorsy people and eco-lovers will enjoy hiking the great Mt. Manalmon. Other activities to be enjoyed in the mountain is zip line and spelunking. The Mt. Manalmon is still a part of the Biak-Na-Bato National Park. The landscape near the mountain is the Madlum River. It is also near the Madlum Cave and Bayubuk Caves which can also be explored and trekked. Though I highly recommend the spelunking adventures only to those who are not afraid of dark and narrow spaces.
