If you are a huge fan of e-books then you must be very familiar with the Kindle brand. Kindle with the help of Amazon has been making these electronic hand held devices since 2007. It was hugely popular back then, it sold out in hours and remained out of stock for months. Now they are at it again staying true to their line, making a device that suits the needs of today’s e-reader.
Features that we like and a look you can love. With the new Kindle Paperwhite 6” High Resolution display, e-readers can once again celebrate. Display is on a 300 ppi which means you get good quality display per inch of your viewing pleasure. This model still has that basic feature that you get from most of its predecessors. It has memory function, that even when its turned off and turned back on the device will recall the last page where the e-reader left it. It has an improved highlighting, note taking, bookmark and search features. And of course a feature that most of us cannot do without, the vocabulary builder.
Boasting its light weight matte finish body, this model will definitely make a lasting impression on the market. It has a nice back light feature that’s gentle on your eyes; whether you’re a day or a night reader you will surely enjoy this feature.
Does the font really matter? The Kindle Paperwhite 6” comes with an exclusive Bookery font specification. This type of font is handcrafted specially for digital readability. This font set has that contemporary and artistic curve on them which makes reading easy on the eyes. Kindle truly made the right decision with Bookery, because of its improved spacing, letter placement and margins.
Battery life is s little bit on the downside on this is its smaller display. I’ve seen Kindle make a better battery performance with its predecessors. With its battery, comes the charger that comes along with this device, again same issue with some of the other Kindle devices, the cord is on the shorter side.
Sharing is caring. As with most Kindle devices you can highlight a particular passage on this Kindle, but with the Kindle Paperwhite there is an option where you can view popular highlights from other readers of the same book. Another one worth mentioning is the Kindkle paperwhite’s inability to install other apps, which not surprising that most readers find it rather positive, no add on apps means no distraction while reading.
With the age and technology available today, I love how Kindle keeps the fire burning for reader and e-readers alike. No matter what the make or model of a Kindle, will definitely recommend it.
